Inspirations for my artwork come from my everyday life: the beautiful trees, flowers and butterflies that I encounter on the streets become my pieces’ motifs.
Instead of using strictly straight lines, I seek to convey my ideas in flexible and honest shapes reminiscent of the nature around us.
My work begins with re-seeing and capturing the easily missed movements of animals and plants. In my depictions of the familiar sceneries around us, I strive to manifest our nostalgia for past thoughts and emotions.
Enamel work – traditional Korean craft that represents Korea’s cultural heritage and aesthetics – brings me infinite joy and healing. Often, I find myself absolutely absorbed in the life that flows within my artwork.
Today, I hope that you, too, will find in these pieces the beauty of our coexistence in the ever-changing nature around us.
